Heard that saying about you wait ages for a bus and then two come along together? Well, it’s been a bit like this in the past week.

It’s been a while since I received any foreign editions of my books but all of a sudden bundles of them have turned up on my doorstep. I’ve had six separate deliveries and it’s been great to receive all these lovely new books from around the world. The covers differ from country to country, from the elegance of the Norwegian edition of Marrying the Runaway Bride to the sheer exuberance of the Japanese Manga edition of Dr Ferrero’s Baby Secret, and I love them all. Take a look and see which one you like best. I find it hard to choose although I do love that Manga…

I really appreciate the fact that all the various countries go to so much trouble choosing covers. They make the books look so attractive, don’t they?I’ve had hundreds of foreign editions over the years and my shelves are groaning under the weight of them but I can’t quite bring myself to throw them out. Maybe some day, eh?

Another lovely thing that happened this week is that I received a letter from a French reader saying how much she enjoyed my books. This is music to a writer’s ears as feedback is so very important. I mean, I spend ages at my desk writing the book and can only hope that my readers will enjoy it so to hear such a positive response is very encouraging. If you ever feel like contacting an author to say that you’ve enjoyed their book then don’t hesitate. We all get a thrill from it, believe me!

So what else happened this week? Well, I took my granddaughter to Liverpool to watch the Disney on Ice show at the Echo Arena. It was absolutely magical! We had rink-side seats so could see everything. However, the icing on the cake was when “Cinderella” called Isobel forward and gave her a rose. Isobel was beside herself with delight. The rose has pride of place in her bedroom!

Right, better go and get some work done now.

Have a great week,
